I Profiled a Runner!

February 7, 2014

So a lot of you know I volunteer with the Big Wild Life Runs running series in Anchorage, but a lot of you don’t really know what I do with them.

This. Basically, I get to do this.

In 2013, I served as an announcer: I introduced speakers at the expo and training events, and helped announce runners coming in for the half marathon and marathon. It was really exciting and fun, but in 2014 I’m mixing it up.

I’m now on their social media team (yay internets!). This means I get to help maintain the Big Wild Life Runs Instagram, and I helped start up their blog (because y’all know I love to blog).

This is very fun for me, as these are two of my fave things to do online. One cool thing we’re doing for the BWLR is profiling runners coming to our race this August! And I got to write the first profile!

If you want to check it out, here’s a link. I just wanted to share something that I am so thrilled about to be working on!

What excites you in your hobbies/volunteer work?

Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of Anchorage’s history by featuring me as one of your 49K runner profiles.
