Pinky’s Westside Grill: Perfect Recovery Food

March 13, 2016

Oh man. This weekend was not what we expected or planned it to be. Our original game plan was to head down to Georgia for a weekend of hiking and relaxing. Unfortunately, Matt brought home a nasty case of what we thought was food poisoning. (It turned out to be a stomach virus that hit both of us – hard)

So with Matt down for the count on Friday and both of us out on Saturday, it wasn’t an ideal weekend. Over the course of a few days we drank a lot of Propel + electrolyte, ate a little bit of applesauce and managed to consume some white rice. Very bland indeed.

Luckily, Sunday we woke up feeling a lot better and completely ravenous. This was an exciting moment, this called for some deliciously greasy food to put in our bellies. This called for Pinky’s.

The 6 year old restaurant has become ubiquitous for good food at a cheap price. Since neither of us had eaten in so long, everything sounded amazing. We started off with Pimp’n Fries – homemade waffle fries covered with pimento cheese. We added the veggie chili on the side, excellent choice.

For entrees, Matt went with the Maddy Patty Melt – a burger on texas toast – while I devoured a Pterodactyl burger with cheese and chili on top. Adding in Matt’s incredibly sweet tea, we were able to eat for under $20.

We were supposed to go here the day after my bachelorette party a few years ago! I wasn’t really up for any food at the time though :/ I’ve been wanting to try it ever since!

You def. should make a trip back for it. There were so many more things we wanted to order that we just didn’t have stomach room for – like the fried pickles!
