Feeling Euphoric @ Euphoria

October 5, 2017

Every year, Greenville hosts an amazing food and wine festival called Euphoria. The event started in 2006, and in 2011 I was actually on their Key Volunteer Committee, so it’s something I always enjoy. The past two years, I’ve gotten to go with Megan, who somehow always gets us tickets to one of the big weekend events. This year we were able to go to the Sunday Brunch: Fired Up!

Fired Up! had a focus on BBQ this year, and the food did not let us down!

For $55 per person, you could enter and sample food from dozens of restaurant vendors. There was BBQ prepared what seemed like 50 different ways, along with poached eggs in cute cubes, grits, biscuits and gravy, pressed juices, delicate desserts, and so much more.

Matt and Bear decided to tag along (buying their own tickets, of course) and the event was really family friendly. At the table next to us was a 6 week old baby, and there were tiny humans everywhere. Since it was an outdoor event, it allowed kids to run around in a safe place while parents enjoyed the bottomless bar featuring Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Bellinis, and beer.

One of the best parts was seeing so many people we adore! Every year it’s always a big social event for me, offering the chance to catch up with old acquaintances.

There’s always a stage with live music playing, which makes sense since Edwin McCain is one of the event founders. The band playing at Fired Up! was kind of blue grassy – perfect background music for all of the food I stuffed myself with.

Once again, 2017 was a great event filled with good food and company. The four day event is every September, with proceeds going to support local charity Local Boys Do Good – working to better the Greenville community. If you’re looking for a fun date night, I suggest getting tickets for one of the wine dinners next year. But you’ll have to buy early – most events sell out!

It’s entering food festival season! We’ll be at the Highlands Food and Wine Festival on Saturday, November 11th in Highlands, North Carolina for the Main Event – an oyster roast taking over Main Street! Tickets are still available here!
