November 22, 2017

Welcome to Day 3!

Today is a special day, as all these items are curated by Matt. Below, you’ll see what’s at the top of his list and why.

You can find Day 1 (Utilitarian) here and Day 2 (For Her) here.

1

VIDDA PRO TROUSERSVIDDA PRO TROUSERS – 32″ Dark Olive $150

Fjallraven is known for making great looking, high quality, outdoor clothing that can withstand the elements. The Vidda Pro pants are a great all-around outdoor pants that are perfect for a short hike, a multi-day backpacking trip, or just working outside around the house in the colder months. They are wind and water-resistant, and the reinforced knees make them a great work pant.

shoeDanner Mountain 600 boots $199.95

Danner makes great looking footwear and the Mountain 600 boots are no exception. These boots are perfect wearing around town in the colder months and are ready for any on or off-trail adventure.

duffel2The North Face Large Base Camp Duffel $145

I’ve had the Large Base Camp duffel from The North Face for a little over 10 years and I cannot recommend it enough. It has withstood the abuse of countless weekend trips, being tossed around by airline baggage handlers as checked luggage. The bag is great for car camping, weekend trips, and even for carrying climbing gear. Mine is starting to show its age, but as soon as it is time to replace the bag I will definitely by buying another. Plus, with 95 Liters of storage it holds basically everything.

4

knifeBenchmade North Fork Pocket Knife $140

Benchmade is well-known by knife addicts for their quality and great looking knifes. The North Fork pocket knife is the perfect blend of utility and aesthetics, making it a great addition to anyone’s every day carry. This comes from someone who carries a pocketknife on him at all times.

watch1Timex Weekender Chrono $160

The Timex Weekender Chrono is a great looking watch for everyday casual wear. It goes equally well with business causal and outdoor attire. The leather strap that comes with the watch looks great but it does not fair well with rigorous activity as it quickly becomes sweat and dirt stained. Luckily, the strap can easily be replaced with any NATO strap, allowing the strap to be swaped based on your current activity. I wear this daily.

earbuds2Apple Airpods $193.80

The Apple AirPods are probably my favorite product on this list. I’ll admit, I was hesitant to purchase them at first for two reasons – 1) I didn’t want to purchase yet another Apple product, and 2) I’m not a fan of the “Apple white” color that Apple has used for their EarPods and other accessories. I finally made the purchase after fighting with bulky Bluetooth headphones and having the corded EarPods ripped out of ears by my infant son while on a call for the final time. The AirPods are very easy to use, taking mere seconds to connect to an Apple device such as the iPhone or Mac. The battery life is amazing, with close to 24 hours of play time when using the charging case that comes with the AirPods. My only request is that Apple come out with a matte black option for the next iteration.
